For contributions to count for the 2020 tax year, we recommend beginning your contribution early in December.
Start by: December 4, 2020
– Ownership must be confirmed by December 31, 2020 for the contribution to count for the 2020 tax year.
– Please fill out and submit the Stock Transfer notification form OR notify our Donor Care team at firstname.lastname@example.org of incoming stock gifts.
– Once you complete the form, you must initiate the transfer with your financial advisor or broker.
For gifts of business interest and real estate interests, we encourage you to start the process as soon as possible in order to have contributions received prior to December 31, 2020.
To send grants from your fund by year-end, we recommend submitting requests by Friday, December 18.
Grant Processing Tip: Put in the grant notes any information the charity needs to know, such as if it is for a year-end campaign, matching grant, or other time-sensitive situations.
We know there are many last-minute requests and decisions to be made, so please reach out to Donor Care at email@example.com or 913.310.0279 with any questions.
We will do our best, but we cannot guarantee all grants will be processed by December 31.
Did you know you can make distributions from your IRA to charity? Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) can be a part of your year-end giving plan with The Signatry.
IRA Charitable Distributions are required by IRS regulations to go to a special type of account at The Signatry called a Designated Fund. With this fund, you designate in advance where the funds will be granted. You may open multiple designated funds to support multiple charities.
Talk with your financial advisor about making a distribution from your IRA to a designated fund at The Signatry. Learn more about this here
You can open a Designated Fund for your charitable distributions by completing the application and returning it to The Signatry via the contact methods on the form.
Timeline: We recommend starting the process as soon as possible. As long as the distribution is completed and postmarked by December 31, 2020, your distribution will count for the 2020 tax year.
Our offices will be closed to allow our staff time with friends and family on these days:
