Cash Donations
For contributions to a DAF to be receipted for the 2024 tax year, we recommend you begin your contribution by these dates. Need help? Check out our help article and video on Making a Contribution.
Please note, if there are any transaction errors that delay your contribution beyond December 31, 2024, your contribution receipt will reflect a 2025 date of receipt.
- ACH/eCheck (via a linked bank account) – December 20, 2024
- Credit/Debit Card – December 27, 2024
- ACH (initiated at your bank) – December 27, 2024
- Bank Wire – December 27, 2024
- Physical Check
Hand-deliver to our office no later than December 31, 2024, or mail your check with a postmark no later than December 31, 2024. Mailed envelopes must have a time/date postmark on them to ensure the contribution is counted for 2024; if mailing on the 30th or 31st, be sure to request this in-person at the post office. Make checks payable to “The Signatry” and write the fund name or number in the memo line.

Publicly Traded Securities
For contributions to a DAF to be receipted for the 2024 tax year, we recommend beginning your contribution early in December.
Start by: December 2, 2024
- Confirm Ownership
Ownership must be confirmed by December 26, 2024, for your contribution receipt to reflect a 2024 date of receipt. - Contribution Notification Form
Please submit the Contribution Notification Form. Without this form, we cannot guarantee that the gift amount will be attributed to your fund or that you will be receipted for the amount. - Initiate the Transfer
Once you complete the form, you must initiate the transfer with your financial advisor or broker.
Nonliquid Gifts
If you would like to make a gift of business interest or real estate before the end of the year, we encourage you to start the process as soon as possible.

Donating Non-Cash Assets
Alternative Investments
To allow for proper due diligence, an alternative investment recommendation should be submitted by October 25, 2024. All due diligence documents should be submitted by November 1, 2024.

Cryptocurrency
The Signatry accepts many types of cryptocurrency as fund contributions.
Initiate cryptocurrency contributions no later than December 26 for the gift to be completed by December 31, 2024.

Year-End Grant Recommendations
For grants to be disbursed by year end, submit grant recommendations by:
- Monday, December 2, 2024 for new grant recipients. New recipients include nonprofits that The Signatry has never supported or have not been renewed in the last 18 months.
- Due to the large volume of new recipients in the month of December, we cannot guarantee year-end delivery for new recipients submitted after December 2.
- Friday, December 13, 2024 for existing grant recipients.
In the grant purpose notes, include any information the charity needs to know, such as whether it is for a year-end campaign, matching grant, or other time-sensitive campaigns.
IRA Distributions
Did you know you can make distributions from your IRA to charity? Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) can be a part of your year-end giving plan with The Signatry.
The Signatry receives IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions into a special type of fund called a “Designated Fund,” which is dedicated to the support of a single charitable organization. You may open multiple designated funds to support multiple charities.
IRA Distribution Tips
- Talk with your financial advisor about making a distribution from your IRA to a designated fund at The Signatry.
- Open a designated fund by December 27, 2024.
- You can open a designated fund by completing the application below.
- Start the process as soon as possible in order to ensure that your contribution is completed by December 31, 2024.
New Donor Advised Funds
To open a new donor advised fund or designated fund and get your first contribution processed by year end, please set up the fund by December 27, 2024.
Once the new fund is approved by our team, please review the contribution deadlines above to see what you may be able to contribute in time to be receipted for the 2024 tax year.

Our regular business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Central Time. In addition to being closed on weekends, our offices will also be closed on the following days to allow our staff time with friends and family:
