Reflecting on 2019

The Signatry

December 27, 2019

As we get ready to flip the calendar to 2020, now is a fitting moment to celebrate all the fantastic stories God orchestrated in 2019. We are blessed to serve such a generous community that has grown immensely this year. With that in mind, we wanted to share with you some of our organization’s favorite highlights from this past year.

Team. We added ten new team members to The Signatry family in order to continue to reach and serve this community well. A highlight of those new team members included adding representation in Seattle to serve the Northwestern region and in Denver for the Rocky Mountains region.  Click here to see all our office locations.

Legacy. This year, we had the privilege of walking 14 families through Family Legacy Workshops, where families discover principles of building a biblical family legacy. It is inspiring to see families set the tone for future generations by outlining their core values and creating mission and vision statements. Stay tuned as you will see more about this in 2020!

Engage. Over 600 individuals attended several events hosted by The Signatry, including Last Check events, CEO Events, Women’s Gatherings, and more!  These events are designed to encourage believers to come together and discover the causes God has placed on their hearts to pursue and find ways they can work towards solving world problems.

Equip. Our Ministry Services team expanded its educational initiatives to equip nonprofits with training and best practices from industry leaders. This year over 490 attendees joined in monthly webinars and attended major donor training events. During the trainings, our team educated ministries on the opportunities of complex asset giving and discussed the keys of major donor development. Our heart has been to see ministries begin to teach transformational generosity in order to minister to their own donors well.

Unite. In a tough year where several major natural disasters affected our families and loved ones, including flooding and tornadoes in the Midwest and wildfires in California, The Signatry community banded together to create The Signatry Natural Disaster Fund. As natural disasters occur, the fund can receive contributions from anyone, and we will recommend grants out for disaster relief organizations (i.e., Samaritans Purse, Red Cross, etc.) active on site of the impacted area. Learn more about The Signatry Natural Disaster Fund here.

Story. Our CEO, Bill High, and Director of Communications, Annika Bergen, published their book, The Spiritual Roots of Kansas City. This fascinating book explores the role faith played in establishing Kansas City. If not for God’s intervention and prompting in the hearts of the French settlers, Kansas City and the Midwest would look very different than they do today. Read more about it here.

These are just a few of the many highlights from the past year. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has been a part of this journey. We know that God has even more in store for The Signatry community in the next year. Do you have a highlight from your year with The Signatry you would like to share?
