Job Description

The position will be responsible for supporting a new major Program, He Gets Us LLC. He Gets Us is a new, major outreach program of The Signatry designed to significantly propel our vision and mission forward. This role will develop and complete all the financial/accounting and reporting requirements for this Program including financial reporting, KPI and Dashboard development, budget development and analysis and working with our Fundraising Team to track and manage revenue in support of the Program. The position will be responsible for preparing accruals, account reconciliations, tax return preparation support and the annual external audit. Must apply sound accounting principles and learn and understand the ministry and the He Gets Us Program specifically to effectively support the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Partner with the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to develop the financial infrastructure necessary to account for and support reporting for the He Gets Us Program, including determining new general ledger accounts, bank accounts and the monthly processes necessary to properly account for the Program.
  2. Complete the month end closing processes for He Gets Us, including recording journal entries, completing account reconciliations, bank reconciliations and developing variance analysis.
  3. Develop and maintain Program KPIs, dashboard development and reporting for the CFO and for the Board of Directors.
  4. Partner with The Signatry Fundraising Team to understand and develop reporting to track contributions for the Program and calculate and record the fees due to The Signatry for administering the He Gets Us Program.
  5. Serve as the point of contact with our external ministry partners for all financial aspects of managing the Program. This will include fundraising, analyzing and processing invoice payments including securing necessary approvals, and preparing variance analysis to the Program budget.
  6. Partner with the Director Financial Planning & Analysis to develop and prepare Audit support and 990 tax return documentation and disclosures required for this Program.
  7. Support other Major Program initiatives as they are developed in the Signatry. For example, a Family Legacy Program initiative was launched in Q1 2022, and this position will assume responsibility for all accounting and finance aspects of this Program.
  8. Participate as an active member of the Finance Team as we continue to refine the Finance function for The Signatry.
    • Develop new processes to use with the new Sage Intacct accounting software
    • Generate and implement new ideas to improve productivity and efficiency
  9. Complete other projects and ad-hoc analysis as assigned.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Alignment with The Signatry values and statement of faith
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance with 3-5 years of experience preferred
  • Strong Excel skills and financial analysis capabilities. Strong working knowledge of MS Office
  • Effective communication skills required to convey information and analysis clearly
  • Ability to complete research and develop recommendations
  • Ability to work independently and move projects and assignments to successful completion
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast- paced environment and react quickly to changes in direction
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and meet deadlines

Work Location:This position is full time and located in our Corporate office in Overland Park, KS. This position can be a hybrid position combining work from home and in office.
