The Generosity of Zacchaeus

Evan Lange, President of the Midwest Region for The Signatry, shares the story of Luke 19:1-10 and how we can respond like Zacchaeus did to the prompting of Jesus.

This story shows us transformational generosity in action. Jesus stopped what he was doing to extend love and grace to Zacchaeus when no one else would. In response, Zacchaeus repented from his unjust business practices and gave away most of his wealth. Because of the transformation Jesus ignited in his life, Zacchaeus was able to turn around and transform the lives of others with abundant generosity.

What moments in your life have helped you experience Jesus’s love more deeply?

In what ways has Jesus’s love spurred you to share this love with others?

These are the moments when transformational generosity begins.

What does Biblical Generosity Look Like?

Zacchaeus showed everyone what transformational generosity looked like in his life. The Bible provides other examples that help us understand what abundant, biblical generosity can look like in each of us, too.
