Telling Your Story the Right Way

We are all familiar with the cell phone commercial from Verizon: “Can you hear me now?” “Can you hear me now?”

But usually, communication isn’t about volume or reception. It’s about content.

I talk with lots of ministries and nonprofits, and frankly, sometimes it’s like drinking from a firehose.

Many leaders start their charity’s story with its inspirational beginning, and—depending on the longevity of the organization—share historic milestones along the way.

Let’s stop right there. If that is how you tell your charity’s story, stop.

Donors don’t give to your history. They give to your vision for the future and the solution that will get you there.
